Description of Picture Display: My Art Websites

These descriptions are my experience with these products.  There are others and I recommend you to visit this site – I have Stu’s display on my “Artists-Showcase.com ” site.

As in my previous article – you make the call on what you use.

1.         Simple Viewer – Free Software, but also has a “Pro” Version.  Full details are on the linked site.  Click here for example in action. (my site)

a.      The free version has a small logo on which viewers can click to go “simple-viewer” site.  I used this version for a while to see the reaction to my site.  I then decided that not only did this work, but it was worth the one-time small fee to remove this distraction to my viewer.

b.      There are a number of coding items for you, but easy enough.  I was able to get my site up and running quickly.  I preferred not to do that part, plus running a program to rebuild each time I added a photo, and having to code in the new info made me look around, and finally came the next product. One reason why I went “Pro” on this was the extremely rapid turnaround of replies to my e-mail questions.

2.         SVManager Fee software, that did all of the coding that I was doing, and I received the same swift reply to a question, even though the software  is supplied by another vendor. Now that’s service that keeps customers coming back.  It will automatically find your files in the folder “images” and will create the “thumbs” and place them in a folder of the same name.  This software does everything that I had to code, in a very user-friendly manner.
