Experimenting With PhotoShop 2.0.

Published by joetheartist at 8:43 pm under Photography, Portraits Edit This

PhotoShop[i] “Elements 2.0 was a free product and I still have the same version and use it in conjunction with IrfanView (have no idea where I got that – but it too was free.)  Portraits are fun, because people and the photos they take are equally interesting.  Being a scientist as well as an artist, the cosmos and galaxies are equally interesting.  So, in preparation for my next watercolor painting, I was searching the NASA[ii] files, because the galaxies make some of the most beautiful backgrounds for me in watercolor.

Among my blogging friends from “across the pond” is one lovely lady, “The Welsh Pixie” whose original picture is in Fig. 2.

Eliminating all of the horrible background, (erasing with black, etc.,) I then created a gray-scale photo, and then a “negative of that” and a few more touches.

Now one of the benefits of galaxies is that there is no “up” or “down”.  This then makes the photomerge easier, and hence I did 2 of them to produce the remaining pictures in this article.
