Planning from Photos


The photo shown in Fig. 1, can be used in a variety of backgrounds.  The couple is the focal point.  How we arrive at a composition that brings the viewers into the painting and keeps them there depends on a number of factors.  We can do it by a careful integration of shadows which lead to the couple or they can be the most colorful part of the painting with everything else in the painting in muted colors.  We can utilize the reverse strategy of having the couple muted (light colors) and have everything around them be in the darker tones.  The options are numerous.
